I have an crazy idea.

A blog where anyone can make a entry the content may be anything.
There will be an account which can only make posts.and that will be placed on the index page so anyone who saw the site will know the password then he can make a post. isnt that great?

Humm... good idea. The content will increase very fast.

But I think you will only get pharma links, gambling links and p0rn links posted all over the blog.

The idea is cool, but unfortunately the implementation is very difficult (thinking only about moderation and validation stuff)

good idea indeed for the content increases but dont forget if you make your password lying around it's not good security habit which tends to be abused with spam and others posting their wares.

Why bother with a password if everyone can see it? Just make the blog accept all posts, no password required.

Either way, its a recipe for spam.

Nice Idea but when you visit the blog you will have to search through unrealvent entries to find interesting ones and it would end up basicly like a forum! Nice idea but probably would not work and would need constant moderation like wikipedia does

Great Idea indeed but will attract lots of spam .. You need quite a bit moderation for it

I'd say you would probably need an approval process because of the amount of spam you are likely to get..... sort of defeats the whole point of what you're proposing

I'd suggest to implement a rating system. Poor posts will be down in the list and good ones in the top. This way you wouldn't have to dig the blog looking for interesting posts.

Yeah, we had the same problem of spam with our blog skin at 1plus,net see www.118500.net. for an example

So, to get around this, any post with an url in the post gets canned....

These are automated blogs with visitors and/or siteowners available to add content.

We can go with the moderation process for the entries .
if the entry is spam then that will not be published.
the moderation right will goes to the administrator only.

I agree. Most of your time will be spent moderating your site and removing all the spam "blogs".
