I own a lot of names like this but I try to keep it limited to huge global ncities (iMumbai, iBogota) or places in the US I can conceivably travel to.
I do avoid randoms...

If you don't develop them, they won't earn, but I do believe they have decent future potential and occasionally, you stumble into an end-user who's willing to offer a price that results in decent profit. They seem to go through a fairly regular "register out of excitement/drop in despair" cycle with domainers...

I saw iVienna drop and decided to not go after it. iMontevideo is sitting out there for reg, if you're after names like this.

Yeah iVienna is definitely better than iMontevideo. If you got it for reg, it was a good deal.
I'm actually in the process of aggressively scaling down my portfolio and some of my iGeos are on the cusp... I'm keeping a few of the larger cities, but some of the smaller ones, I'm probably letting go.

I think you're right, one can be excited when regging, but then needs to be objective and has to drop a big part of their (hand) registrations, if needed.
To be honest, I backordered it with GoDaddy at $19. I liked it so much I didn't want to lose it, but not so much I wanted to pay $60+ to Snapnames or Pool.

Hotels in Mumbai has huge dev potential. I know guys who do hotel bookings earning 1000s every month.

i Blackjack is also development material, plus gambling is only legal in Goa as far as India is concerned and is not the most popular of games.
