I created a subdomain register service

Hello ,

I first came across this article from Vercel: https://vercel.com/blog/wildcard-domains

I loved the idea, but I did not like that it used a lot of tech that costs money , so I created my own based on their open source code available at: https://github.com/vercel/static-fun , only by using React + Express + Sendgrid for email sending .

The service is hosted on a dedicated server that uses Plesk .

Domain: https://hej.lt

Example domain: https://example.hej.lt



Each subdomain has it's own password with the help of which you can login and modify your page. This password can be sent over your email for safe keeping . Every paged has their page hits tracked ( attention: page hits, not unique page hits , this will come in a future update ).

What do you think about the domain name and the service provided in general?

Yes, "The certificate is only valid for the following names: hej.lt, webmail.hej.lt, www.hej.lt"
@cipcip You should install a wildcard SSL for the whole domain or if you want to keep using free certs then create a new one for every subdomain.

It had one , i think it got renewed incorrectly, do you get ssl warnings ? I will check it out as soon as I get home

Just my piece of contribution. Use linux + letsencrypt + cerbot + auto renew wildcard domain ssl. I do this for my other applications.

Yes, the browser refuses to open any of the subdomain pages, not even gives the option to ignore and continue.

Lets encrypt was installed, don't know what happened

Done, I have re-issued manually the cert for Let's encrypt , don't know why it was not working because I have the following options for the cert in plesk , it should've work.

It's just amazing. I wanted to do this years ago and still want to do it. I tried with whmcs but not much luck. I don't have enough knowledge in coding.

In terms of cost of creating the service, I do not know , I based the software on open source and adapted it for my needs .

To maintain , I am paying for the VPS where I have hosted more domains , not just this one .

Email is down until I hear from Sendgrid support, apparently they suspended my account , don't know why though
