Hello guys and gals,

I own a ccTLD domain that gets a fair amount of interest but nothing really fancy to get excited about and let it go.

Someone has recently contacted me who wanted me to sell them a subdomain on my domain and forward it to another domain really badly.
Obviously selling a subdomain on my own domain doesnt make sense so I offered them the option of paying an annual fee for the subdomain which was accepted by them.
Since I've never had this kind of request before, I dont have a clue on how much I should really charge them for the subdomain and the forwarding service.
The renewal fee for my domain is $49,95 a year.
So how much do you think is a fair annual fee for a subdomain and the forwarding service?

Interesting.

Does the desired subdomain spell out a word?

Such as del.icio.us?

It's the surname of the interested party (name hack).

Very cool. Hard to say what a fair price would be, as I've never done something like that, just make sure the terms are clear. What happens if someone comes along and offers you $500 or $2000 for the domain while you're renting out the subdomain? etc.

If he can make a satisfactory offer, it might make sense to just sell him the entire domain, and you can use Escrow's domain holding service so he pays for it over a set amount of time. If he stops paying, the domain is returned to you. On the other hand, if he's paying you annually for the subdomain, who knows, perhaps you could extend the deal for many years to come without ever giving up the domain.

I too have a name similar to this

Waiting for Amazon to make offer to this domain name since they are launching some products with the keyword rapid.
