I check a us domain, somewhere shows taken, some available

Why?
I check with startname and nic.us, it shows available, I check with namecheap.com and godaddy.com , it returns taken, why?
And where can I check it exactlly?

moniker.com also shows taken, but when i check whois, it shows available again!!

If you're checking a reserved .us domain, such as any five-number .us (e.g., 10210.us), then nic.us and other registrars may show it as available. Smarter registrars will tell you right away that it isn't available.
