I believe premium .com domain names will increase in value i.e. car.com, rent.com, sunglasses.com.

But some of the 2nd to 3rd class .com domain names will decrease in value. I see more value in premium domain hacks than most 2nd to 3rd class .com domain names. But I am not a professional domainer, I am an end-user with a limited amount of experience.

Most of the experts here seem do be following trends, i.e. news articles, sales, etc. But I believe it will ultimately be the end-users and registrys i.e. GoDaddy that dictate the market.

This is definitely a time for professional domainers to analyze their portfolios and look towards the future. The .com domain name market has been trending up since its inception (based on what I have read). But disruptions and market corrections present themselves in almost every market i.e. real estate, stock market, jobs and this pattern can be traced farther back than the foundation of the internet (i.e. domain names).

You're kidding right.

You can just put the domain on a domain name marketplace (sedo, godaddy, etc.) and if any one buys from there, the marketplace takes a % comission. Good luck!

Which part, the China aspect or the commission?

I woke up in the morning and read that XYZ.com is trying to get ICANN's authorization to ban words like "Democracy", "Freedom of Speech" and "Human Rights". Those are all values studied and usually taught in the fields of humanism. I believe that would make the domain name I purchased more valuable since it would be impossible to purchase similar .xyz domain names about China. It all depends if .xyz will be one of the standard Chinese top-level domains. It would then be valuable to pro-democracy advocates (might not have money) and China who spends a lot of money and resources on silencing and censoring critics.

Based on the posts I have read this involves too much speculation for professional domainers. But I like to make predictions and try to guess the future. I am betting $8.00 / a year on this and I think my odds are better than playing the lotto (at least I can say that).

Commissions:
- I am not a professional but from what I read it is easier to demand a higher price through Direct Negotiations VS. Marketplaces like Sedo & GoDaddy.
