I don't think anything happens to last minute. Someone else probably looking at KIDS.tv they bid $20,000 then the current bidder counters at $30,000. Watch gets a $10,000 bid and maybe someone counters at $15,000 and comedy maybe goes for $10,000 I think broadcast goes for $5,000 if any

LAST DAY looks like IGAL/domainspa/MRS JELLO/EXOTIC DOMAINS just bid $10,100 for KIDS.tv and Someone Bid $5100 for WATCH.tv should get interesting here, figure KIDS.tv gets 100 to 200 type ins a day and since IGAL/DOMAINSPA/EXOTICDOMAINS at one time handled the parking he has a slightly unfair advantage he knows what the traffic is since he owns DOMAIN SPA and that's where .tv was parking unregged .tvs now looks like REVENUE DIRECT (DOTSTER)

I am a bit surprised/disappointed by the total lack of promotion for this auction whick looks like intra-muros, hope the result will be good enough to get publicity (as well as for the benefit of HRTS !)

Only kids.tv really got off the ground at $10k. Comedy tv at $6k and the other two $5,1k each - only one bid each.

Pretty poor result!

Elequa was not around and really was not interested, I did not think these would go for high, in our predictions I went a little higher to be optimistic but I did not think these would go high said to friends I did not think broadcast would even get a bid. Well KIDS.tv was a good buy IMO

Agree with you, but one could say that winners, -excepted the pro .tv ExoticDomains-, are from the industry not just dn collectors/speculators which is a positive thing.

Indeed a pretty bad result, you should expect someone like the buyer of businesschannel.tv would like to pay the same amount for kids.tv. I made a bid of 10,200 for kids.tv when I came home late expecting the auction was still alive, I got an e-mail that my bid was accepted. Next morning I got another e-mail that the auction was already closed, my bid was too late. I checked it and it was indeed several hours too late, it was ending mid day like I just read here at the post of Bilbo. The current buyer has a good investment IMO, in fact the other 3 names went also relatively cheap. It's strange that not some TV station, big company or big investors were not interested, maybe also because not many people knew about it, John.

John you are absolutely right, first off KIDS.com IMO is at least a MIllion Dollar name, if fish.com sold for $1,000,000 THen I think kids at a minimum would sell for that. KIDS.tv has got to be a desirable name for VIACOM owners of nickoldeon, cartoon network. Or DIsney or FOX or Time Warner. KIDS.tv will probably just stay parked on DOMAIN SPA unless IGAL markets it to the Corporations I just mentioned previously. But he parks all the other great .tvs he owns. Travel.tv $65,000 and KIDS.tv $10,000? But this was not promoted properly who really knew about it? THis is not ego speaking or bragging for NP but this .tv forum is thee hub for .tv Nowhere else is .tv really talked about everyone here really is the engine that drives .tv SO we followed it but I doubt MAJOR companies knew about this. You figure Cable companies should have been told about WATCH.tv and Broadcast.Tv, Entertainment companies for Kids and Comedy.tv. Auction ran too long too. But you know there are plenty of good buys out there in the $500 range some that I think are better than Broadcast or Comedy which I think for a domainer would be very hard to monetize for a small or even medium size domainer PPC would pay nothing Comedy? What .10 a click ? If you can get a word or great acronym LLL.tv for $500 it worth it and better than a lot of higher priced premium names.

Wish you had of gotten KIDS.tv JOHN although I think Igal would have bid more and it a little weird the other guy did not up his bid for $100? I think Kids.tv is at minimum $100,000 name. A lot of potential for that one we mentioned with the coop way back JOHN $10,000 was the price I emailed them.

why do HRTS not use a .tv address.

I know that they are an organisation (hence the .org address) but if .tv want people to take the body who is promotig their domain names to the industry seriously.........unbelieveable.

Whomever got the winning bid for kids.tv just won the domain lottery.

One thing to think about. Sex.TV, Men.TV, et al didn't go for $10K I can assure you. Dot TV is able to get more because they are more visible and the market need is there.

So I would chalk up the low winning bid for Kids.tv due to a lack of info about these auctions. Lessons to be learned when selling domains....

NOTE: Kids have a major impact on parents buying decisions. Moms are next. Who do you think would "watch" Kids.tv? The advertising on a domain like this would be at a premium is all that I can say.

Hi Equity, the auction was indeed not good marketed. For sure, if more companies knew, the bidding was way up. Therefore, we can not draw too many conclusions out of this, although it was not a good thing for .tv IMO. And like you say, it makes really no sense that travel.tv goes for for $65,000, businesschannel.tv for $10,000 and kids.tv for $10,100 :td:

Because I made a bid for kids.tv $10,000.00 in the beginning it might scared some people away. I think $10,100.00 is a good price even some people said it should be over $50,000.00
I am looking for the fast return but kids.tv is more "buy and hold". I think some media firms including 4kids.tv knew about this auction.
