How to optimize the site?

How do I optimize my site? I'm not getting much traffic on the site and I'm getting really upset now. Any tips? I've been submitting linkexchange emails but no luck.

If it's worth to optimize, I would like to do it otherwise I feel as I should put the site on eBay?

Also, I had paid someone to create the site and that guy is MIA. So, I'm on my own pretty much. I guess I have to find a way to create another page to add links.

Try to get many many backlinks as possible, buy PR links (pagerank) and optmize your site yourself by reading articles and tutorials on various forums.
