How to get recognized by Google ?

I've just bought a domain name. But how I you get Google to find my site. There is a place for 'keywords', is that of any relevance to Google or do I need to do something more specific. Or is it just a matter of waiting for people to accidentally type in canadawet.com ? Which seems a bit unlikely !

Any info/advice/pointers much appreciated.

in general it's best to learn and read prior to making a domain purchase. it seems that you dont even know what domain parking is, so you should give THIS a read. you're right that it is unlikely anyone will be typing in your domain, which is why it isnt worth that much. but you like the name so... enjoy!!

Thanks again Shockie, I'll read that stuff. I have been reading stuff for a couple of weeks now, but it's all a bit theoretical if you don't actually have a domain, which is why I bought a couple of domain names to try and make it more real, so far it's all still a muddle, but no doubt it will come clear at some point.

Well i think you started wrong or at least you will not get what you expect

Namedrive and all other parking companies do not allow to advertise your site or promote it in any way
They accept only "natural traffic" (search engine results, type in traffic and old links)

Google even it gave samples in the past that list parked sites it surely don't like it so much so the best method is to develop it, let it Google grab it as normal site and then if you want park it

Thanks dotnom, I didn't know that. But what is the purpose of the 'keywords' in that case, is it purely internal for the 'parker'. Looks like I'm going to have to develop them - does that mean I have to learn how to make a website ?

With the keyword option the parking providers give, you can target exactly the category of your site so that people when they come in to find ads right away and click (1 click) and not get a whole index of categories to choose what they want (portal)

There are many ways you can choose if you decide to develop but yes you have to know how to make a website
