For the address, you can also look at the website on wayback. A few years ago, most companies were still putting their email addresses online - and not using those awful contact forms.

Another trick is to search "website or company name" +marketing manager (or +president)
Get a person's name and then search for him/her.

Another devious trick is to pick up the telephone, call them, and ask for the email of the right contact person. I find it's often quite easy to get an email address that way:)

Even better, you can just ask for that persons phone number! :sold:

Thanks tonecas. I just sent them my FEIN number anyway. Typically I am only asked to provide that info when I am buying wholesale from someone or on my tax forms, which is why I asked.

I always present myself as an individual, which is probably not the best. But I am an actual business and I do have all the proper paperwork etc, if someone wants it. So far, it has not hindered my enduser sales too much in my opinion, but I might start presenting myself a little differently in the future.
yeah, that's good advice, i think presentation means a lot

RE: How to Find Potential End Users?

I am very satisfied selling my domains to BuyDomains. I am thrilled with the services and I always get payments fast.

for pennies? perfect way to make small change for lollipops

jokes apart, to be honest I use to sell domains left, right & center to BuyDomains for pennies and use to be happy wit them but hey ever thought about selling to end-users or developing those gems of yours for potentially larger returns?

BuyDomains are resellers, so they offer terribly low prices on your inventory and have stopped ever since early last year. I feel good, cuz I sell to end-users for much more profit or own finer part of my portfolio :)

Yes,yes,yes!
I have read this thread all the way through and used one of the letters on here as a template and altered it.
I had one .org i wanted to sell that i hand regged for $8 about 4 weeks ago, i sent out 10 emails, well i had one offer back straight away offering me $240 for the name.

Question should i counter offer and what price should i ask for?

I also sent out one email yesterday to a company that has a .com as the same as my .mobi, the guy replied on his iphone asking me how much i wanted for the name, any suggestions?

Some will say sell it asap since it only cost you $8 4 weeks ago.
Some will say "ask for $x,xxx, xxx".
Some will say what's the domain name?
How many Google search per month?
How much Av. CPC?...

Answer yourself questions below...
Are you happy with $240? If yes, sell it.
Do you think you can get more? If yes, ask more.
Would you regret if potential buyer disappear when you ask for more?

Only YOU can answer those questions.

$240 return for an $8 reg only a month ago, especially when you only sent out 10 emails is a fantastic ROI! Unless the name is an absolutely brilliant name, you might want to consider taking the profit IMO.

It really depends what the domain is. I generally do not factor in the price I paid as much as what I perceive the value to be.

I think i'll ask ยฃ450

Sounds good I believe. This was the template for my last sale where I was almost sure about the client would not run away after reading my mail.. but you gotta be sure, and you aint just yet!
PHP:
M***,

Thanks for raising your offer price, however, as I have stated earlier I cannot go lower then $2000. I was expecting you to cover paypal fee as well while transferring funds, however I can waive that off as an extra gesture. Leave about making profit, I'm just about covering the costs involved in this domain name acquisition from previous owner, so please do not expect me or ask about going lower then this price. (I used these lines just because I was sure that he's a potential buyer and had quite a few back n forth emails negotiating the price)

I have already rejected an offer in $1xxx price range, as I am certainly not looking to go lower then this price.

Let me know and we can wrap this up asap.

Regards,

Jay

Not asking you to use this template, but suggesting you something similar can be sent as a response where you can sound reasonable while asking for a higher price for your gem.

cheers

Depends exactly on the domain, hard to say without knowing the name.

I have asked for $650

The good point is that he replied to my email using his iPhone, so he could see the .mobi on his phone.

I have gotten so many "how much" replies with no success until recently.
What I do now is shoot HIGH....in your example $650 for whatever mobi domain you are trying to sell.
If the end user doesn't reply back after a few days then HE is not willing to pay that amount or not that much interested YET in your offer.
Most domains give up right about here...they won't reply or re engage..they would move on to another end user.I find it so hard to even find an end user that is willing to reply "how much?" in the first place.
What I would do next is wait another 3-4 days..until I re engage the same end user with something like:
"Dear Doe, I was wondering if you have any other questions about the domain xxx or if you have considered my offer. If you believe the asking price is over your budget I am open to offers. I would want you to be happy with your purchase in the end"

Believe it or not MOST end users will then reply and low ball me with offers like $50 -$150.
I would then reply and say I would accept $200 not lower, and that I would be willing to assist them step by step with domain transfer instructions(or some other incentive).
They would then reply OK, sounds like a deal, or something similar.
Yes you did not make $650, but in the end you made that end user happy and you MADE MONEY!
I always ask after the sale if I could use X end user as future domain sale reference, and they always say YES, Alex we would be glad too.
I have sold 5 domains in the last 2 weeks by doing 1 THING: " Re engaging in a polite manner the end user that initially replied "how much? "

To encourage you I will post the replies of my latest domain sale.

---------- Post added at 09:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 PM ----------

1st contact letter:
"Hello,

I am contacting your company because I am selling the following domain name:
HotItem.net

Please let me know if you would be interested in this domain.

Best regards,

Alex Green

cellphone "

enduser:

"How much?"

then me (BIG THANKS TO FEDERER!!!):

"Hi Doug,

HotItem.net is for sale for $495. I have sent out a few emails to some other companies offering and marketing the same products, companies that I believe could benefit from owning this keyword domain > (branding/advertising > memorable domain that visitors are looking for the exact specific product ,very easy to remember , blocking competition, developing and redirecting traffic to your main website etc.).

Kindly let me know if interested.

Thanks,

Alex
www.HotItem.net"

enduser:
NO REPLY!!!!!!

me after 4 days:
"Doug,

Have you gave the offer any thinking?
I would be willing to sell HotItem.net for $200 to you rather then sending it to auction.
I am trying to liquidate my portfolio of domains.
I can assist you with the domain transfer too.

Thanks.
Let me know.
Alex "

enduser:
"Alex

Sound like a deal. How can we proceed?

Doug "

NO I did not make $490 profit, but at least I got $195 profit in the end.

I used to flip maybe 4-5 domains every couple of month, recently I have been flipping 2/week.
