Thanx miss_chiff except ive read those forums, and have plenty of great emails ready to go, but there is scarce advise on the email title.

For <decision maker name> - <their current domain name> website question

Example: For Steve - apple.com website question

Any e-mail entitled "Business opportunity" or "Important and confidential" will be *instantly* marked as spam and deleted by 99% of all recipients you send them to. "Domain name for sale" is a slightly better, but (a) Many end-users don't know what a domain name is, and (b) The end-user doesn't know by reading your e-mail title whether the name is relevant; your message could very well have just been mass-mailed to 100,000 recipients and the domain might entirely unrelated to his. Unless he has a lot of free time and/or high tolerance for spam, he'd probably delete such an e-mail as well.

Putting the domain name or keywords themselves in the title -- "piggybank.com is for sale", "piggybank.com", "Piggy Bank", etc. often works fine. Just be sure not to throw in any exclamation points or modifiers. "PIGGYBANK.COM FOR SALE! LIMITED TIME!!!" looks beyond desperate and will get land e-mail on every Internet blacklist in existence.

However, I most prefer putting the end-user's name and CURRENT domain in the title because (1) It makes my e-mail indistinguishable from any other genuine website inquiry, and (2) It properly conveys that I researched his website and am pitching him retail-style, not as part of a mass mailing.

When e-mailing a high-end professional (doctor, lawyer, etc.), I would use the recipient's title + last name ("Dr. Jobs") in place of their first name; for a large company, write "ATTN: <company name> business development" in place of "For <first name>".

Thanks for the response Josh.

I'm going to merge this with that other thread,
I think it would be a benefit there.

Has anyone ever responded to this with "so what's your question?". Because technically the only question is "will you buy this domain", and it is only implied.

I have never received that response or anything like it.

I use the same subject that Josh suggested, and I have never gotten such reply either.

Iโ€™ve got scumed by enduser lol.
Iโ€™ve contacted them first and they agreed to pay 475 for domain Iโ€™ve picked for 69, Iโ€™ve pushed the domain to their account and after two days got no payment (via PayPal). Yesterday got an e-mail that they will pay 256 or something like that :)
So today evening I will make a thread here with all our correspondence, names and everything.
Let them burn in hell :)

Have you tried the nice approach and just (without emotion) let them know that that is unacceptable and although you don't want to you will be forced to address the issue in a forum. Hope you haven't cussed this person out yet!

Yes sure, when I understood that they are not solid guys, I just asked them to push the domain back. If no, I told them that all information will be posted at 100 000 members forum and if there reputation costs $475 itโ€™s OK.
They asked me immediately what is my account name (domain is at Enom), Iโ€™ve send the mail with account name 10-12 hours back, than other mail, than one more mail and โ€ฆ nothing :)

www. DONT.net
Thanks, but I donโ€™t want their money :) I want them to become โ€œpopularโ€ :)
You all will see what a nice guy was I in e-mails. I trusted the company founded in 1933 ))

Domains pushed at Enom need 7 days between two account pushes. As in they can't push the domain back for 7 days after you pushed the domain to them.

End users cannot be treated the same way as domainers, even with them it sometimes takes time for resolution, don't be impatient.

I'd recommend that you explain to them why the domain is worth $495, also explain to them that once they have accepted the terms and the domain, the deal is binding.

If they still don't come through w/ the payment, just accept the domain back, threats are going to get you nowhere.

Spoiling their name might give you some satisfaction, not much else, it will also ensure that this end user and anyone they know will hear about this bad experience, making it that much tougher for that group of people to accept similar offers in the future. Plus they might just come after you legally for slander, though I doubt it, why open yourself up to problems unnecessarily.

This is just how I would handle it, you might prefer a different method, but think about the consequences of such actions before you indulge in maligning anyone for a failed deal. The amount of time wasted on this could be constructively spent on approaching the next end user. Jmho.

Thanks Samit!
I didn't know about this 7 days rule. In this situation I'll need to wait.
I want this domain back, but I think they don't want to give me it back.

i always fax a Contract, including all details (price, payment method, transfer, etc.) to be signed/stamped by the company, before doing anything.

long process but definitely safer, legally binding and the best way to go about it if you have patience to go about it :)
