Hello Guys,
I have a question that I could not find an answer for it. How can I find the owner of a domain besides checking WHOIS? I own a domain without a hyphen, and I found the same domain with a hyphen already taken. It’s not being used as a website, but I want to contact the owner to see if they’re interested in upgrading. Any advice on how to reach them?

I strongly urge you not to contact them. Don't do it.

You'll be in a very weak position if you do that and the other domain owner will have much more power, if you manage to find a way to contact them.
The asker is always in a weaker position that the one who is being asked.

If the other domain owner does not provide any reasonable means to contact them (a website with contact info, info in the whois) and the registrar doesn't provide any method, you can assume that the other domain owner doesn't want to be contacted.

I would not even spend a penny to find their contact info either.

I don't know if the registry can help as I've never had to do this before.

If you can keep renewing the name, just do that and sit back and wait for an offer. You'll be pleased you did in the end.

Thank you for your input. I think you are absolutely right I read an article on Domaininvesting.com from Elliot Silver who mentioned this method. But I think waiting is the best way.
