How to check for trademarks?

Where can I check for a TM?
I did use the seach function here but it always comes up with irrelevant results and even more so when I use advanced search....

For US trademarks go here http://www.uspto.gov/index.html On the left side you will see trademark,And in that box is search,Click search,Put in your search words and it will give you the results.Don't run words together like petstore ect.You should get the results your looking for.Hope that helps ya out.
