Has anyone setup and built a RSS news aggregation site like Domaining.com? For other niches or industries obviously. What did you use?

I see there are lots of premium plugins for WordPress - WP RSS Aggregator, Autoblog WPMUdev, WPdrudge. There is FeedWordpress which is free I think too. Have you used any for a RSS site? Use something else? Do you curate the feeds? How? Do you use a specific WP theme?

For the most control pulling rss feeds and displaying them on your PHP based site, you can use MagpieRSS http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/ for free, but it's more technical than most options.

You could also buy a stand alone PHP script that is meant to create an rss aggregator site like this: http://codecanyon.net/item/rss-auto-pilot-one-click-site-builder/12377505

Thanks for the suggestions @dncafe. There are a lot of stand alone options but they do seem a bit complicated to setup. Have you used MagpieRSS and that php script? Have you built RSS aggregator sites before?

This is other RSS software I've looked into.

I'd rather use a CMS like WP or Joomla since I want to write original articles and pull RSS feeds. It should also look nice. Do you have any suggestions for WP?
