Welcome to NamePros @jason calacanis - I first asked this question on my blog about a year back and there was some interesting chatter about the domain and it's value at the time. There's no question that the market for numeric .com's has exploded since then. There haven't been any recent, reported 2 number .com sales but i'd say the name is worth north of $5M in today's market.

Are you still sticking with this plan?

I think the best way to value it is to ask several high-level brokers, without any commitment, and average that.
It would also create some pre-sell buzz... I'm here to help if you need.

He posted he doesn't want to use brokers so that changed.
He posted he wants cash or cash/stock so that changed.

The idea of investing in someone just because they buy your name seems odd. They may want to start 20dollarshaveclub or something..

Perhaps he just wanted to stoke interest in a name at a domain forum to get the word out more than he has already? Everyone throws numbers around like they have the money and it's nonsense based on random guesses and comparables in an industry with little transparency.

Some idiot investor will spend more but some idiot investor will always find a some bigger idiot with more money until they don't Then that final idiot sits hoping that some big company with more money wants it.

Everyone towards the bottom will be lampooned as lacking foresight and the last person to profit will be seen as a genius... someone in the middle will be neither but the source of jealousy

I voted $3m just because it was the lowest alternative. IMO It shouldn't reach $2m.
If you got this domain in 2006 for $75k, you should be happy for even less than $1m

He's clearly not investing in whoever buys the domain. The idea has to be right and then a cash/equity deal would take place. Otherwise for the right price the domain is 100% sold.

He's stated that more than 1 offer of $3 million has been presented. It's worth that at least. The domain is so rare that the ask could be $10 million or more. That said, to move it now, $5 million is a very obtainable sum to fetch.

What something is worth and what someone is willing to pay/receive are not the same thing =)
