I prefer to hand reg since brandable domain names are more down my alley.

But I also buy names at Godaddy auctions when I have more of a budget.

I do my own research and hand reg. Never bought a domain from snapnames or dropcatch or off of another auction like Flippa, Sedo, GoDaddy and Bido

I develop a lot of the names I hand reg also, so it's a lot easier to sell then just the name by itself.

hand reg using a list I created myself and yesterday I found domains with 1000 USD apprise, of course, that is not guaranteed but that will give me an idea of how much could these domains worth, besides that, I don't like to use these site most of them ask you for upgrades to get the most of it while I can use the upgrade costs to buy 10-50 good ones using my list.

What is the real difference between hand registered or bought from elsewhere?

I gather domains however fits.

I wouldn't give it to much of a thought if I was interested in a name.

Slippery slope. I'm not sure if Estibot or Sedo big data pricer has EVER appraised ANY of my domains above $500 and I've sold quite a few domains for good money over the years and hundreds of domains for OK money.

Estibot and the like can't differentiate between commercially viable domains and so called empty phrase domains, which makes them dangerous tools for beginners. IMO....

I look through deleted names lists for relaxation. Also, I find they give me ideas for sites and other names.

True you can have inspiration for your own word looking at deleted names. I do that with songs and ppl talking or tv and news or just by reading.

I think I need to spend a bit more time on selling rather than collecting though. :)
