How long to transfer?

Hi.

I bought a domain that was registered with namesecure. I asked the seller to transfer it to his enom account, then to push it to my enom account. He said that was not a problem.
However, that was 2 weeks ago and he tells me that namesecure takes a long time to do the transfer.
Do you have anyexperience with that? Is that a normal delay?
Any input appreciated.

Unsure of NameSecure specifically, but I'm betting that there became apparent an unforeseen "cost" of "pulling" the domain over to Enom to the tune of an annual renewal/registration fee at Enom. Unless this was negotiated prior, this may have become an issue for the Seller, IMHO. The Seller would have had to pay for this cost ... and two weeks (from any Registrar) seems like an awfully long time. Did this "pull" fee come up at all in subsequent conversations? My two sense.

He didn't mention anything about that. I'd happily pay the transfer fee (which is equivalent to one year reg fee, I think..)

It MAY be a NameSecure delay, as stated ... but if nothing was mentioned of this as you've confirmed, I would assume it may have played a factor, IMHO. Don't push the panic button until you've addressed it with him/her. If the Seller has an Enom Reseller account, yes, that cost will be $6.95 - $8.95 ... but if he/she does NOT have an Enom Reseller account, I believe the cost is $29.95 (and hence my assumption). :o

I finally got my domain yesterday.
I took your advice and offered to pay extra for the transfer but that wasn't the problem.
It's just that Namesecure took a long time to transfer the domain to enom.
Finally I got the domain and I'd like to thank Paul from moderndomains.com (I don't think he's a NP member), for his professionalism.
