In my first active auction at SnapNames.

The name is emailme.com

Obviously good potential for email site: [email protected]

What do you think the wholesale value is on this one?

 Michael. That's exactly how I feel with me and my forty domain ideas, all of which I'd like to develop, but alas we're only human.

emailme.com is a great name, but personally I wouldn't go beyond $200 for this one. Still, if you truly are planning to develop, $500 is nothing. Good luck!

So you want to develop the site enough to sell it as a developed site. Have you a layout on papar to how you plan to do it.

I don't know, exactly what you are driving at here, kaliboy2g, but the answer is no, I have not done a paper layout for this potential site. Although the books advise us to do so, beyond a rough outline or tree hierarchy diagram, (which usually gets totally ammended, anyways), I don't operate this way, and if I did, I probably wouldn't do a paper layout of this site for at least a year, as I am working on other projects. :)

I mean do you know what type of email site it will be.
Example:
1. How much space
2. How big attachements
3. which email script
etc

No, I've only gone as far as considering an email site as a possibility, and if I decided not to do it, was wondering if the name would have enough resale value, a year or two down the line to act as a hedge against my investment.

The feedback I have gotten here, has really helped out. Essentially, as I interpret it, $200+/- is OK as a resale investment- $500 if I am certain I will develop it. My last bid was for $230 which was topped by the proxy bid, so last I looked, it sits at $240. Would be willing to give the name to the Investors Club here at NP if there was a strong feeling that the name would be worthy, but for my part, may bump the bid a little more, and then bow out.

IN that case i dont believe that $250+ is okay if you are looking to resell it

As a fully developed site you can get that much easily. As a domain with no content, i doubt that its worth it.

But anyways, its been said before and ill go for it again:

A domain is worth what ever someone will pay for it

Right now it's at $716, there are more bidders, afterall, and it is more than I wish to pay for something I'm not really turned on to. I really like the name, but an email site, as i said earlier, is not a front burner item for me. Your replies were interesting and thought provoking, nonetheless. TX all.

Well you win some, you lose some.

It was a great name though

yes, that seems the be the quote in every topic at the moment.

i would say that it would be worth developing. however i cant imagen you would get too many users that much. [email protected] isent as catchy as [email protected] or [email protected] so youll have alot of competishion. i would say the domain is worth about $250 buyitself. after that its all up in the air. however i dont think youll be loseing out on anything but time.

I almost forgot, I do have a decent email site name w/ a different twist, sitting in the wings: VIPMessaging.com.
It's not as appealing as emailme.com, but it was a heck of alot cheaper @ $6.95, which is a much more realistic price, considering my aims.
