One of the very first domains i regged back in 2003 (i sold it the same year) has expired and is pending delete.
The expiring registrar is Moniker.
I know moniker auctions all its expiring domains off on snapnames, but what has me confused is how the process works.
Its current status is pendingdelete which usually takes 5 days. I noticed snapnames says that domain will be available for auction on its site the same date the deletion should take place, and is accepting bids.
So my question is, will the domain drop for good to be regged at any register, or do they snatch it up? which seems a bit silly to me.
The domain isn't very good, but i'd pay reg fee again for it just for the nostalgia, but i don't want to get into some weird bidding war, which probably wouldn't even happen due to the domain not being the best ever.
Does anyone know how this entire process works? Will they even try to get it if no prebids are placed?
thanks
