Hi
I received 2 bids in the past 4 days on one of my domains parked at Sedo. Now I want to put it on auction and have followed the instructions but no joy. It says to list your domain for auction click on this link. It then takes you back to your domain management in your account. But from here on there are no further clues as to what you must do to place your domain on auction. Nowhere do I see any info on this. I mailed Sedo to ask but they are so slow to respond that just now the 5 day period will be over and I still won t be the wiser.
Please advise
Thnx
Fred

As far as I know you can't send it to auction until you have accepted an offer - that price would then be the starting price for the auction.

I have never used it though !

sedo's website says the following although i think it could have been worded a bit clearer

An auction may be started once you have received an offer through the standard Sedo marketplace, and this offer will serve as the starting bid and reserve price for your auction. Since you already have a committed offer at the reserve price, your auction listing is guaranteed to end in a sale!

Auctions may be started within five days of receiving an offer and will run for the remaining time of the offer.

Basically the above does'nt really say you have to accept an offer but I think the bit in bold implies it.

Yes but if I accept an offer then I cant send it to auction can I because that means I have accepted the offer and must sell it to the person who made that offer.

That's correct...don't "accept" it. On the same page as the option to accept the offer, you should be able to scroll down to find the other options, which include counteroffering or sending it to auction (and maybe one more option, can't remember at the moment). As long as you haven't already declined the offer outright, those options should still be available to you on the offer page.

Try calling their customer support. They may be able to help you get the domain put up for auction and allow you to put a reserve on it.

I believe there is a button "send to auction" and the reserve is automatically met because you have an offer. If at the end of the auction no one else bids then you must sell to the person that made the offer. If you are having problems try another browser to make sure it's not a compatibility problem.

Thanks for all the help. Unfortunately I dont see such a button(send to auction) like you mention. I haven't declined the offer outright but did counteroffer a higher amount then what the bidder offered. I do see a section underneath the bidding history that gives various options but sending to auction is not one of them

Once you've counteroffered, you can no longer send it to auction, unless the party making the offer counters you again. If they accept your counteroffer, you're bound to sell it for that amount.
