Anyone ever transfer out of Namescout? There's nothing under Domain Administration and have searched their site high and low I can't find anything on how to retrieve AUTH Codes. Anyone know?

PS This is after having to fax them new contact info, although Pool has the correct info which should have been passed along, but that's another story for my upcoming expose on funky registrar policies and CP interfaces designed by sadists.

I think you have to send a list your domain names to them asking that your authorization codes be sent. email: [email protected]

Hope that helps.

Never mind. I received an auto response email to a link to god knows where. There is no way of retreiving your AUTH code from their site. You must email them requesting AUTH codes for each name and await a response. No comment. :|

TX Version2. Our posts crossed.

Guess what? I receive an email from Namescout and I 'm thinking awright!
Alas it's a renewal notice w/ a direct link to renew the name I've been jumping through hoops to transfer out. Oh well- it can be an impersonal world. ... Par for the course. :bah:

Make the request at least several weeks before you need it. I've requested auth codes from namescout and taken a couple weeks to get an answer. I just request the code for every EPP name in my account, which they normaly give me...eventually.

Supposedly, ICANN implemented rules a while back that auth codes could be no more difficult to get than changing the whois on a domain. The intent was that you could access them online. I don't think they have 100% compliance yet though.

I sent another email request out early this afternoon and received the codes a couple of hours later. Assuming they work, (fingers crossed-I don't take anything for granted anymore), that will complete a 3½ mo odyssey in which I transferred 30 names away from 25+/- offbeat registrars partnered/associated w/ Pool and Snapnames. The next big group doesn't come due until later in the year, but should be a bit easier this time around- between them and some unavoidable dealings w/ NetSol and Register.com, (try swallowing $200 to tranfer out!), there's not much left that they can throw at me that I haven't seen at this point, (knock on wood!). In all fairness, my problems have been exasberated by a change of address, and a defunct contact email address, but even at that, some of the roadblocks along the way have been unbelievable, totally unnecessary, and in some instances, downright sly.
Ahh... finally!

Namescout is usually very good at responding to requests for authorization codes.
