I feel silly asking this because I'm sure the answer is obvious...but here it goes:

Firstly, does the meaning of the term "forwarding" include changing the nameserver at your registrar?

I have domains at NetSol and 1DNI and neither place can I find any settings for my domains with regarding forwarding. Changing nameservers of course is easy.

I understand forwarding if I have the domains active with webpages that I control. Then it is as simple as HTML changes.

Sedo was easy to setup...they offered which of their nameservers to use when I registered with them.

But DomainSponsor just keeps saying to "forward" and I can't figure out how without knowing their nameservers.

I wrote to DomainSponsor to ask, but until I get a reply I thought I'd write here to get further understanding.

Thanks

Forwarding is different than nameservers, it redirects your domain name to the website you want it to. I'm not sure if NetSol or 1DNI support forwarding but if they don't then you can add your host's nameservers and put up a page that redirects itself to the URL DomainSponsor provided to you. A simple "meta-refresh" code can do the trick!

Thanks for your response...I have one follow up question.

You say:

but if they don't then you can add your host's nameservers

who is my host? Not my registrar...I've seen some ISPs charge $5 month to keep pointing an extra domain name to an existing site. Is that the same thing?

Part of my question implies, do I have to pay just to have my domain point to somewhere (DomainSponsor), if they do not accept offer a nameserver to switch to?

Sorry for confusing you, but I meant to say that if you had a hosting account somewhere you could add your domain to it and create a page that redirects itself to DomainSponsor's website.

You can consider to use one of the free DNS services provided which supports forwarding. You will have to change your DNS servers.

http://www.mydomain.com is providing what you need. They provide a decent service and are easy to use.
