shift.org.uk sold for 1k euros on sedo, but how do these sellers do it? IMHO that is a bit of a rubbish domain but it still sold for a lot. Is there some secret behind their success.

They probably put on the front page,Cost $95,For 30 days.Bur even at that,I agree the DN is not all that great.
