How do the bots pick up names?

Hey just wondering

if i were to register

www.sportsforum.com
or
www.sports-forum.com

someone told me that the bots pick up the'-' as a space therefore if someone were to type in: sports forum as two words into a search engine which site would it hit first? If they were identical sites?

It often depends on the words. Sports and Forums being solid english words helps . Some words when placed together may form a word in the middle and this can be an issue. For SEO purposes...get BOTH.

But if you are on a budget and had to pick i'd go with out the "-". "-" is often marked down in after sale.

If you can spare the extra $5 he is correct buy both.

Where can i register domains for $5 and can they be trusted? Don't know if thats the right thing to say after asking where you buy for $5?
