How do i get a phpbb forum running? Phpbb is free right? I know how to do the domain name part, but what about hosting. How do i design the forum? What do i need?

Yes PHPBB is FREE

u need a web host, with mysql database.
u need to buy the domain name
u can change the forum skins by downloading on purchasing it.

you can download it but unless you have apache and php set up on your local machine you won't be able to do much with it.

Just get a host that offers Fantasico.....this is a program that allow you to set up scripts, such as PHPBB2 in your Cpanel. All of it done with 1 click...

Yeah but they set up the older version and then there is trouble upgrading!

I can do it for you for a very small fee if you are interested. And you don't need a domain... you just need a subdomain. Any address is fine really.

If you are confident you can do it yourself then good luck!

I disagree Taylor, i've never had a prob installing from fantasico, my current version is 2.0.18, older version I have seen is 2.0.17 ut again never had a prob upgrading, always done within 2 mins.

There are many free forums available.
