How do I build a customer list??

I want to put something on my web site that allows site visitors to opt in to a list with their snail mail address and email address and then be able to VERY EASILY use the email portion for mailings and keep a file of snail mails for things like...which people I might want to contact if there is a show in their area. I hear there is software out there to do this with...but I would appreciate any recommendations from the group or any tutorials available on how to accomplish this.

Download and install PHP Form Generator - http://phpformgen.sourceforge.net/

You can build your own form quickly and easily and then have it emailed to you once the customer has submitted it.

As for keeping a database of users, why not use something like Excel?
