domain Housing.com Professional Opinions Please.

The statistic recieved on the domain are as follows.

PR5 as is on google.

As reported by the current owner of Housing.com the stats for the last 90 days report the following.



>From Jan'06 - April '06:

Avg. monthly page views: 275,000

Avg. monthly hits: 350,000

70% of traffic is direct type in traffic.

15% comes from Google.

The rest is a combination of Yahoo, MSN and referrals.



Currently, there is no Advertising dollars spent on the promotion of
Housing.com.[/B]

I have exclusive broker rights.. and Its being sold only on our site with us seeking buyers for the owner. I am asking for expert approx value consideration from my peers. I see nothing wrong with asking for opinions and since there is no other room on this forum to do so one would assume that this is the appropriate area.

If Its not ok a mod may move this however Ièm simply asking the same thing as anyone else with a domain to sell and not attempting to offend anyone. I would hope this thread can stay .

I don't know if being a broker makes a difference but the rules state you must own the domain to request an appraisal.. myself, I could care less. It's a simple matter to ask the same question in Domain Discussion.. you'll get the same exact answers without wading thru "appraisers" posting for the NP$.

Perhaps a mod could move this then to that forum. Hopefully enough people will see it there to give thier thoughts.. As said offending anyone wasnt the intention. Personally I find it a silly rule to only be able to ask value on personally owned domains but I suppose thatès just my own opinion.. Again.. all I wanted to do was get some feedback to note whether my pricing was in the right ballpark area.

also you offer appraisals for $20.00 on your site, I guess that would be a bad buy then or will you just post all appraisals for us to appraise for free?

This is not about anything like that. This is a major name. Ièm simply looking for input from other professional domainers with experience in large sales to comment on what they might look for since the variations on something like this can be so large. We have a few people who handle the appraisals onsite. Some of them have been domaining for many years. This is just a personal enquiry as I happen to value others opinions which is something rarely seen these days. I find it unfair for angry stabs to be made at myself for asking a simple question in which happens to be in the wrong spot. Ive already apologised for the wrong placement.

Let's look at similar sales.
I believe property.com was sold for 750K.
IMO housing.com is not as strong. I think 200K -> 250K would be a decent price.
800K looks a little bit much to me. If you can get 800K so good but it would be realistic to expect a lower sale price.

I don't believe I was making anything other than an observation.. we ask that you own the domain so we aren't overrun with requests for appraisals from people looking to BUY a domain rather than sell one.. there's a big difference in the approach. I'll ask a mod to move the discussion to where it belongs.

Actually dgridley I wasnèt referring to you. It makes sense what you are saying and if you could make the request I would appreciate it. Thanks for pointing that out to me. If its in the wrong place I understand. I wasnèt asking it to be appraised for a purchase but rather get expert opinions on itès value for the sale is all. I have an idea on an industry price but the owner has his own as well.

Post only domains you own or control in the Domain Appraisals Forum.

I will bring this up in the next Staff Meeting - I personally think the original intent was for Partial Owners , but feel Brokers with exclusive rights may also be included in this

As far as the Value - I believe the mid xxx,xxx Range wouldn't be out of line for it in the right hands ....

I'm sure any buyers would be directing it toward "Homes" as a site - but am surprised at the low bids on the actual term "Housing" on PPC (Advertiser's Max Bid: $0.31) @ Ovt.

Decent Searches for the term as well
housing 442.0 /day @ WT housing 2,175.0 /day @ Ovt
- but still not in the Homes Range ....
