Hello guys,

I am in the process of creating a hosting company and would like opinions on the current design.

Waht do you think? How could I improve it?

Thank you,
Shane

I have nothing against you personally, but I hate that design. I'm not even sure it's improvable to the point where I'd like it.

Sorry.

If I had to suggest one change, it would be the top navigation.

I cant read the text without scrolling. This is like this in FF and IE. When my browser window is slightly smaller like it usually is, its even more scrolling.

It would be cool to also have the very top link (the ones that dont work yet) to have them light up or something on mouse over.

But yeah as far as hosting sites go.. it looks pretty much like most of the other ones.. so thats good it looks like a hosting site, but it doesn't stand out as being different IMO.

Also when you click add to cart or order, it takes you to a site that looks nothing like yous. It would probably be benificial to have that site looking in the same theme.

Good luck, nice start!

Thank you for you help. I shall try to implant these ideas.. though my biggest problem is that I cannot afford a high quality designer or coder, so have to do it myself!

Thanks

There are some free templates out there that you can modify quite easily. I think the problem is the color choice and general layout atm. Customers tend to like a brighter and more professional looking layout. You can accomplish this on your own and with little to no cost for the template especially when starting out. The overall customer winning feature is your quality of service no matter what, but first impressions are a defenite attention grabber.

black is just not working, also I would add more package features to the front page. best of luck.

I am quite surprised your design is not liked by the guys in house. Well, its more than lovely, but one easy thing that I'd change and make this look truly professional and bright. Change dark colours to white and light gray degrees. Then we can compare the results with the dark version. This change is easy as editing colour profiles in your CSS/HTML plus changing psd backgrounds to white. Quite easy

Thank you very much! I shall try that :)

you can still save some space on the top navigation, always put the logo and taglines on top then menu, but in here the menu can be inserted on top right along with the logo and taglines.

Dark colors. I have to say that I dislike them and anyway, but in your case I like them, mostly because of good layout. Nice web site

Dark colors are good for branding
I think you're not at this stage
Dark may add style and class but under specific circumstances and depends on the message you want to pass to your viewers

I can see a lot of cool ideas like the menu - very very cool, with "alien supercomputer" style, but you need more light on the logo (looks faded in the dark), the whole header needs more light.

Also work on "customer testimonials" and "live support"

My overall opinion is that the design is very good!
