Hosting for Multiple Domains?

Looking for info on a hosting solution that's affordable where I can host multiple domains - not sub-domains. It's getting confusing with a different server and and log-ins and passwords for each domain.

I'd like to find one place that I can log-in and access all my sites. Does this make sense???? :-/

It makes sense but....if you have 5 domains at a host thats 5 cpanels of some sort with 5 user ids/passwords. I havent heard of anything that would allow 1 ID to access all sites. You could get a reseller with cpanel/whm and be able to see all the sites on your plan.

Your master reseller password is the only thing that you can use on all. Each domain/site will still have it's own account. The advantage would be that they are all under one roof. The disadvantage with them being under one roof is from an SEO point of view. If you link sites together that are on the same IP's or even in the same class can affect your rankings.

hi

we can do this but it will still be whm and cpanel, you just click thru from your whm to each account or view each thru whm, easy as pie, please let me know , we would love to be your host

It's simply called an add-on domain, you can access multiple sites from 1 cpanel and 1 login. It creates a folder in your main sites account. I prefer to have seperate control panels for each site as to not get sites mixed up but if you wan't to access them under 1 login it can be done if your host allows enough add-on domains for each site of yours, if not then the solution would be to buy a reseller account as stated above and click down to each account from within whm. If you end up going the reseller route just make all of your sites passwords different and then you will be able to float back and forth between accounts in whm without having to enter login info for any of your sites when accessing from your main whm account.

You don't have to use cpanel ~
Other control panels are able to support this ~ :]

if you have WHM, then its just one pass word to all your domains!

Yeah but you cant use cpanel fully when you access it from whm but you can still login directly. If you want a reseller I would use http://www.resellerzoom.com

WOW! Great information, a bit overwhelming for a novice, but great. I'll be checking into the various hosts and will contact a few of you as soon as I digest this.

Thank you! :tu: :kickass: :tu:

I have an account with lunarpages, which allows add-on domains. I've never used the add-on feature.

Does anyone know how the control panel works if you get an add-on through lunarpages? Are the traffic stats, etc, all lumped into one so you can't tell the stats from one page to another?

WestNIC.net

I love my www.WestNIC.net account. Unlimited domains and superb service and reliability. This is unsolicited consumer feedback for one of the few services/products in my life that is actually high quality and delivers what they say they will without any problems.

Good point. That won't work if they are....

I checked out westnic.net, I like the packages. I'm looking for a company to host a few domains, and will be adding more sites. Since I'm not going to be using a bunch of disk space, or have massive amounts of traffic, I don't like the idea of paying a lot for bandwidth I'll never use, which is why their packages look good...I can use the bandwidth for a number of sites.

So, anyone else ever use westnic? I dumped too much money into hosting to just plop another $100 bucks down.
