I wonder which one is better for a hosting company to reg a domain.
host is short, however, hosting seems searched more frequently.
Thank you for your vote!

Personally, I think "host" is more brandable most of the time, but that certainly isn't always the case.

It also depends on which word fits best with the other part of the domain. Consider each version, and ask yourself which one rolls off your tounge.

Why not just use a unique name something that dosent use the word host or hosting at all?

I would usually go with host, but sometimes hosting sounds better. But you could always get both, so you wouldn't lose any traffic ;)

Although hosting is more more frequently searthed, I choose host because it is short and brandable!

I would go with "host" first, then "hosting". The former is shorter.

It saves you time! :D

I have voted for hosting simply because I think it sounds better but it does depend on what other words you are going to add

it really depends on the name you choose for your company. Some names just sound better when you add hosting instead of host. If the company is specialized in the field of hosting, I would go for "hosting".

You could also just use the name of the company in the url, companyname.com and call the website "companyname hosting" - that's the easiest way I think :) check out 2advanced.net - they only used the company name in the domain name but it's their hosting site.

I would probably go with host, but you can't go wrong with either.

I would go with host but buy both domains, companyhost.com and companyhosting.com so you dont miss out on traffic.

I started my site with *hosting.com and i decided to register *host.com and have since moved everything over to host and forwarded the hosting one to host. I think host is better :)

i am choosing "hosting" because this word is what people know , even if it is longer.
