thread was locked. no one can be sure a loon like this cant bid on everything. goes for any sedo auction.
be happy when they're all paid for and we can see whos bought. to see developed sites will be really exciting.

anyway. be interesting to hear from sedo about number of owners etc. if established buyers. i know they are limited on what they can say, but just for fun and info

Even if it is true (which I highly doubt) that there were multiple bidders willing to go close to thoses sales amounts shows strong interest in mobi. One loon can only spend that much money if others are willing to also bid

sure would. :hehe:
i would rather they went to different owners so they can stamp a unique identity on site .
cant want wait to see who nailed them.
if sedo are reading, which i doubt, could you at least let us know if any major corps have bought?
least you can do after wasting 2 hours of our time :hehe:

his wealth and professional background checks out. only thing we know is he posted this, own's clics.com, and clics.com links to a home page with reiterates he bought them. The page coincidentally promotes his religious movement so - it would appear - press is sought there as well.

he's been challenged at abovepostedforum to provide proof to keep his thread alive - lets see what unfolds...

Did he buy to resell in the near future after purchasing the names at such a high price?
Why won't he develop? He can pay developers even a tiny fraction of the cost he has paid for some of his .mobi domains to develop an amazing .mobi website.

We'll have to see whether his purchase is for real or not.

Well this looks real to me. I dont think it's a bluff. Dont know what to think about all this. Somehow does'nt sound to healthy at all :( Could be a conspiracy by some of the anti-mobi crowd to try and sink the .mobi boat and they have the bucks between them to buy these top .mobi's and keep them from being developed properly somehow to give .mobi a negative twist. But of course they have to be be developed to the .mobi standard within 6 months but maybe they figure that that's enough time to slow down the .mobi train and cause it irreversible damage. Just my theory.

As long as the buyer pays, who cares? --- Today, mtld is much wealthier, and a wealthy dotmobi has better leverage and flexibility to build the extension --- even if it means sacrificing some excellent names to fuel the fire.

This is a cult with deep pockets . . .

Newbie here . . . This group could very well have bought all these domains . . . not something I wanted to read.

The upside is that they had to be bidding against someone, right? So the .mobi market seems to be picking up for now. :imho:

pretty sure I saw a user on another forum claim to buy MOVIES.MOBI

Basically, a noob with tons of cash (he's the president of some companies) and very little experience with domains bought the names "hoping to sell them soon".

Just takes away all the legitimacy from the sales. All the big domainers who actually know the industry stayed away, and the noobs got in, believing the hype. If even one of those big names was bought by Rick, Frank or Sahar, I would've turned a .mobi believer, but seems to me that the big players just stayed away, and the noobs bid against themselves.

If this turns out to be true that one guy bought all the big names, it'll confirm everybody's pump and dump suspicions.

As long as the buyer pays, who cares? --- Today, mtld is much wealthier, and a wealthy dotmobi has better leverage and flexibility to build the extension --- even if it means sacrificing some excellent names to fuel the fire.

Who buys the names matters a lot. The .mobi hype was essentially built around Rick's purchase of Flowers.mobi. If an experienced domainer buys some name, then it gives the average domainer confidence that the extension might be worth it.

But when noobs buy up all names, it essentially means that someone bought the hype.
