i have recently registered 2 domains with go daddy. From what they say I cannot trasfer them to another registar for 60 days. Is there another way to transfer ownership if I find a buyer for the domain before the 60 days expire?

any help will be appreciated

oops should have checked that first

sorry for the duplicate.

so I guess the answer to my question is to push it..basically to ask the buyer to register with godaddy and thn push him the domain?

Free "push" AT (within) GoDaddy!
(You could also set him or her up with a free account there, as well ... push it over, and then provide to them the account Log-in details, too).

you can not transfer for 60 days. Its an industry standard that all registrars must follow.

What is the reason for this rule?

ICANN imposed this rule not too long ago. Any attempt within 60 days of birth or transfer to a new registrar will be declined by the registry. So basically you can confirm the transfer all you want, and your registrar could too but the registry will say no sir. Sorry but nice try. I don't remember why the rule was imposed but I think hijacking prevention was part of the issue and also to keep registrars from losing money. The turnover rate use to be bigtime for registrars
