"NHK also said by 2011 it expects some display manufacturers to begin developing flatscreen displays with the "full pixel count." NHK said it plans to build a full-resolution projector by the end of 2009."
Those lucky Brits. During the 2012 London Olympics, they'll receive BBC broadcasts in "Super Hi-Vision," on big screens across the country.

11-09-2008 IBC, on Friday morning in Amsterdam, is scheduled to see a spectacular Super HDTV demonstration, a world first, where signals are transmitted from London to Amsterdam’s RAI conference and exhibition centre. The live BBC and NHK signals will be fed via fibre and satellite between the two locations.

Todays gfx card can allready output to two displays at 2560 x 1600
Thats a total of 5020x3200 pixels.
We already have projectors that output to 100" size in our homes.
