Generic .TV Question...

Okay - so let's say I have a one-word generic .TV. Is it possible with seo to get word.tv close to, or possibly surpass, a word.com on google ranking when someone searches "word" ? [Where "word" is the generic term, of course.]

Also, is it possible for a generic .TV to be strong enough to be developed effectively without major use of video/interactive features?
