I am considering purchasing hhh.com from the owner and was wondering if I could get some opinions on value of the name. He is asking $10,000.00.

Also, I am interested to know if any of you know of any other means to get a good idea of traffic to a name other than overture. Overture shows 357 with extension for January for hhh.com. Another 20 or so at overture.uk.

I am just curious to know how one could determine number of daily uniques and daily traffic based on those numbers if he had nothing else to go by other than overture stats. Hard to get an idea of traffic when seller does not have traffic stas to provide me with.

(Not this seller, but just anyone in general.)

why dont you try the dna tool at name pros it can provide you traffic stats
it is 357 uniques/month for this name

10000 is too much imo

Three letter .coms have been going for around mid to high xxx these days just recently nhs.com sold for $500 i think on sedo

Yeah, it was I who purchased nhs.com from sedo, but it was for 600 Euro ($785.00 roughly) but I have since resold it. It was a nice pickup indeed!

As for hhh.com, I have some thinking to do. Thanks for your replies.

sometimes I wonder if the typins are just people wanting to know if the name is available and what is going on with it.
You have to figure that a lot of people are doing research on
these types of names. - Why would a average customers/surfer
go to HHH without any advertising or anything?

It's a great price IMHO - but way over my budget

Type-ins are unimportant with a 3 letter dot coms, especialy if they are the same 3 letters.

You have to assume the owner has exhausted all obvious end users: Helen Hayes Hospital (New York), Hill House Hammond (insurance), Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Hou Hsiao-Hsien (Taiwanese film director), Hungry Hungry Hippos (band), Hunter Hearst Helmsley (aka Triple H) etc.

$10,000 is over priced, unless you have a confirmed buyer for it at a decent profit.

Triple matched letter .com's work better with hard consonants(ddd, ppp, ttt, etc.) or vowels. HHH is one of the weakest sets other than the obvious undesireable letters. Even then I'd rather have some of the less desireables as a triple set than HHH.

There is something to be said for the vanity factor in owning a tripple matched set, but vanity doesn't pay the mortgage.

My max would be 5k, but hey that's just me

i agree with Sharpy once youve bought the name you are worried how to get rid of it .....if you get a good deal you are much more comfortable and can make a good profit even after selling the domain for not a very high price
