Hey all, thought I should introduce myself a little now that I'm posting here these days (a little). I used to post mainly on DNF, before it got sucked down a black hole that is. I joined NP in '03 about a year after DNF but I didn't start posting here regularly until Nov 2015.
Definitely like NP more, lot's of supportive people here and good attitudes, great to see. I'm going to make an effort to add more value here when I can. That's one of the great things about adding value, it's contagious when you see other people doing it. I did manage to save one of my old posts from DNF because I think it has value, hopefully you do too. It's not meant to be cryptic, just to cut to the heart of the truth about domaining:
The truth hurts, that's why you won't hear it often and why people don't often try to sell it. Most people sell hype. Why? Because hype sells.
Instead focus on the truth, the reality.

- It's a job, it's a hard job, a grind.
- You have to study, you have to work hard, you have to grind day in and day out, every day.
- You need to do it because you are drawn to it, because it's a passion for you (investing). If it's not, find something else that is.
- It's a lot of "alone time". Researching, tracking and thinking about domain names.
