No, its not like that. I guess it will display all related sites 'trips' and the one that is having more backlinks-contents will come on first page.

No. How search results are index all depends on the algorithm used by the particular search engine. Having keywords in the domain seems to be a + but is only one out of many factors. In general if you wanna make it to the top of search results good unique quality content is the way too go.

It depends on how competitive the keyword is.

SuperDuperFunTrips.com should be position #1 for "super duper fun trips" searches as long as there is average development.

Trips.com on the other hand would need significant development to even reach the first page for "trips" searches since it would be competing with the likes of Travelocity, TripAdvisor and RoadTripAmerica. It is currently at #898 since the site sucks. Not even a strong keyword like that has helped it.

what domains would you buy if you have the chance to register any keyword with a bad extension ? I already have, poker sex, amor, love, blog , email, horoscopo, blackjack an a couple like that also the extension is for a country in spanish so what would you recomend ?

Not all the time that your site will display first when the person searching trips. It depends on the codes in the search engines. Every sites have different way of encoding their program.
