Hi, I'm looking to transfer a small site I have to another hosting company, but I'm quite new to that stuff, so I would appreciate to have some help!
First, when I subscribe to a new company, and they send me the info, can I just go to my cpanel and make the transfer of the files through ftp manager? How do I proceed? And after that I change the dns to the new server - is that all? Do I need something else? Will I be able to have access to my cpanel again just like I'm doing now? Once again, I'm really a beginner, so I'm looking for some help easy to understand.
If you have a reputable hosting company, I can change to your company if you can give me full assitance on how to make the transfer and set up everything for me (looking for a max $3/month package, it's really simple site)
Thanks!

If both web hosting companies have Cpanel - that is more then easier.

Thanks Waiter - can you please elaborate on how to do it, or provide me a link with this info for beginners?

If you are looking for tutorials for beginners try Google. There are a lot of them there or ask your host to do it for you. As I know many hosts do it for their clients for free.

It is actually very easy.
Open a ticket at your new host with the login details of the account at your old host and they will get it transfered for you.
I believe that you were using Cpanel at your old host too?

Yes I'm using cPanel now. I'll look for a new hosting company and contact them to see if they can do it for me. Thanks for your reply.

Almost all hosts will do this for you if you are moving from the same control panel.
Any way, it is always good to ask this before you sign up with them.
