Hi,

I have had this problem for quite a while but never fixed it, what it is my domain topsiteplus.com is somehow re-directing to toplist.invisionplus.net.

I am regged with Enom.

Where could this setting occur?, i cannot think. I have tried a number of times to fix it via DNS but no luck.

Thanks

Please move to domain newbies, sorry

Dns is fine, but your webserver is set to issue a 301 response, that says to get it at toplist.invisionplus.net

HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Sun, 20 Jun 2004 11:52:40 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.31 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.3.7 FrontPage/5.0.2.2634a mod_ssl/2.8.18 OpenSSL/0.9.7a
Location: http://toplist.invisionplus.net/
Connection: close
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<TITLE>301 Moved Permanently</TITLE>
</HEAD><BODY>
<H1>Moved Permanently</H1>
The document has moved <A HREF="http://toplist.invisionplus.net/">here</A>.<P>
<HR>
<ADDRESS>Apache/1.3.31 Server at topsiteplus.com Port 80</ADDRESS>
</BODY></HTML>

so the place to look to fix it is in your apache, or httpaccess settings etc.

Now toplist.invisionplus.net does not resolve however.

Thats jibberish to me :)

But it sounds like you know the problem.

where is the file normally located?

.httpaccess or httpd.conf, or even in the docs directory for the domain's files.

.httpaccess would be in the docs direcory.

Is this a dedicated server? If not , it is most likely there. If you use a control panel look for a redirect set in it also.

Who set up and runs your web server? They should know how to remove the redirect.

Well, too many different way things can be set up for an impromtu guide. It seem the files are in the wrong place though for the server to find them.

Would it be a good idea to delete the site and start over?

Or is it something to do with the server? apache etc?

should not matter if you delete it since it is not finding it , more likely you need to move the files

hmm... now you changed the dns?

well, this was the cpanel host , and dns servers it set up that are set.

maybe you need to double check what namerserver are to be used with the cpanel you are using now to host the domain, and change to those servers now then?

I have gone to Enom and selected the DNS to:

ns1.ukdirectnetworks.net
ns2.ukdirectnetworks.net

We will see tommorow what happens, fingers crossed

well, that is what they are now, right? so that will not help as those name servers claim to know nothing about your domain now that you deleted that cpanel entry.

Do what you suggested before now, now that the nameservers lost the entry for that name, and delete and reinstall that name in your panel.
