domain Help Needed -- $800,000 domain

Hello all,

I have a domain, 1stbandwidth.com which is listed on numerous sites of highest domain sales of all time that it sold for $800,000 in March 2000. (See examples Below)

Even though this cant be clarified..what is the honest appraisal ofthis domain based on its history?

Well, I think this information is fake...

in 2000 ll.coms was free so why somebody will pay 800000 for domain like this ?

It's a mid $xx domain. I highly doubt it was sold for that amount but if it was, someone was very very stupid. First to pay that much and then to let it drop.

I truly doubt that it sold for $800,000, especially in 2000 when so many were available.

I doubt it sold for that much, but then again, Ive sold alot of domain names for numerous amounts of money that are poorer than that domain name.

I would develop it immedietly, then once its developed, place it on bizbuysell.com for sale asking 250K, and siting that it sold already for 800,000K. If you get a buyer for 50,000 take it.

I think you're right philfisher..what development ideas do you think this can be made into?

thanks for all the opinions...Even though i think the sale might have been a hoax or bogus, i sure do not necessarily think that it is worthless because it is out there. I dont necessarily think any domain is worthless..all it takes is a buyer that needs it and sees value in it.

I would'nt even think this domain is worth anywhere near mid x,xxx to a "wanting end user" never mind $800,000 !!!

Sounds a bit unbeleivable but we've all been wrong estimating value before - good luck with it JMO
