Hi there,

I have spent endless hours and days browsing the net, looking for information on creating my own dating site. I have read hundreds of pros and cons and have only become completely lost as to what to do, and how much is needed to invest.
I have a low budget and some of the forums and sites stated that I will need at least 10 to 20 thousand to have my site built. Is that true?
Can anyone give me information on how much I will be spending and what exactly I can do to have my own personal dating site up and running in no time?? :tri:

If you want a custom site built completely from scratch it takes a lot of time and you can expect to see a lot of money going to the developers.

The good news is you don't have to go that path. There are pre-written dating applications available. It's not really my thing so I haven't looked at them in any depth, but I have investigated Dolphin from Boonex I was looking at the social media aspects of the software but it was obvious that it is designed as a dating site package & would be a relatively easy way to get into that. There's even a free version, so you could initially start with that and move up to the paid version once you are going.

Even with a package solution, you'll probably want to hire someone to do the set-up and perhaps do a custom style for you. This should cost a few hundred dollars maximum.

Then comes the hard bit ... getting started. Unless you've got some new angle, it's a saturated market and nobody is going to join a dating site that has no people of the appropriate gender on it so you need a way to attract your initial clients against established competition and you're up against a large number of other sites that are heavy users of adsense &c so even getting people to visit is going to be tough.

Good Luck

Agreed 100%... dating is heavily saturated niche.

As for applications, have a look at osDate, a free open-source dating system that's been in development for several years now and has a decent user base as well.

i think u'hve to design the site first,,and then after that u'hve to continue the programming part and there's also some inbuilt dating applications and u can implement directly.
if u'hv'nt started yet then u'hve to think about other sites and u can get the better ideas and can put the better creativity.
