I used to buy and sell domain names years ago. I even owned TruCalling.com when the show came out—should’ve sold it, of course. Right now, I’m selling Englishxpert.com, and GoDaddy says it’s worth $1,550. Yeah… right. Back then, every domainer was appraising domains “to the moon,” and people went way overboard speculating.


I also had websites like Snaggers.com, which had a huge white tiger on it. That site registered domain names for people, and I got a quarter for each one. Never really made any money. I also owned NewtonianMechanics.com and SilverAndGold.com, and that’s all I can remember.


I’m honestly surprised people still speculate today. Back then, it felt like every time I tried a .com that was “available,” the moment I searched for it at a big registrar, it was gone. Was it really taken that fast?


I’d like to think that nowadays, people can actually do their homework, research, and make some real money at it. That would be nice.

I forgot my first DN. THATSAGOOD.COM. People did not get it. I listed DNs for sale at `That`s a good dot com!` They thought it should be selling tomato sauce. `That`s a good!` Huh...looks like that one might be available. Anyone in the sauce biz?
