A: Australia

What’s your level of expertise?

A: 6 weeks

What would you like to specifically learn first?
how to buy a domain, domain history, best selling strategies, government policies, etc.
A: Domain history QA and outbound sales techniques

Are you currently working on any projects or ideas?
A: No, just learning the lay of the land

What are your short-term goals in the next year?
A: Sell 1 non-auction domain.

What are your long-term goals in the next 5 years?
A: Reach 25k p.a.

What was your first domain you purchased?
A: as40.com - though it was to learn WordPress, not "domaining".

Why did you start investing in domains? Please tell us the story.
A: I originally bought a few domains to try affiliate marketing, but did not enjoy it all. I just wanted to delete them as they looked stupid in my dynadot account and reminded me of my failure.

When I asked someone what to do with them they suggested I try to sell to get my reg fee back.

That was 6 weeks ago. I now own 43 domains, 32 of which will likely never sell.

Being honest about our mistakes opens the way to knowing what we want to do better next time.

We could even make the same mistake again and again, even again. It's okay. Nothings wrong; it just means we still have more to learn about THAT (more feedback).

Agreed. I've already learnt a lot, but can admit that I still know very little.

Hello @Rattyfish .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

I actually found your expectations to be very reasonable and realistic. There's a large number of domainers (including myself) who eventually came to domaining after acquiring domains for potential build-out reasons. You're certainly not alone there.

Just be sure to learn faster than you spend and you should be ok in the long term!

Best of luck to you going forward! :)
