I noticed , there are auctions on Namejet for hd.tv , 98.tv and auctions.tv , however , checked the whois , they are all ".TV RESERVED DOMAINS" . What's this mean , are the .TV RESERVED DOMAINS are released by Verisign ?

there are a lot of .tv domains that are held back or reserved just like they do with other extensions. Verisign can do whatever they want with these names; they can hold them forever if they wanted.

In 2011 they had a public namejet and snapname auction with about 20+ two letter .tv domains and keywords. I was in these auctions and so were all the other .tv head honchos at the time so it was just as hard to acquire these names, Money ruled the pot.

snapnames - http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...n-sought-after-tv-domain-names-117655133.html

namejet - http://www.domaininvesting.com/namejet-holding-no-reserve-tv-auction/

Some other names I remember tots.tv - po.tv which was purchased by Claude and resold; and a lot of two letters and prems in this genre of quality.

Other than these auctions this is the last time they have made any announcements or released any reserved premium .tv domains.

I'm assuming Verisign would rather privately sell a reserved two letter .tv or premium reserved held back name for 50-100k+ from a private offer rather than releasing it to the public or at an auction at this point imo :(
