Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

Have I gone insane with my domain registrations?

Decided to take a bit of a gamble & registered 3 NNNNN.co.uk domains. Picked up these NNNNN.co.uk (40000, 70000 & 90000), these were the last ones available ending in "0000". So what do you think? Comments on these names are appreciated.

These are the sales of some numbered domains:

5000.com $14,000 2007-03-16 Sedo
3000.com $12,000 2007-02-08 Sedo
7888.com $1,888 2005-12-28 Afternic
77301.com $1,800 2005-07-29 Afternic
4007.com $1,500 2006-10-18 Afternic
4770.com $1,150 2007-03-01 Sedo
3010.com $1,000 2006-11-01 Afternic
8000.mobi $665 2007-03-07 Sedo

hopefully you'll be able to sell one of these in 5-10 years, but even then, i don't think it'll make up for the reg fees :(

I think the reason NNNNN.com's sell so well is that they are area codes in the USA. The UK is like Canada and use an alpha numeric system (for example L2M 1B5) so I am not sure on the value of these.

I thought about the zip codes, then I wondered what they used in the UK. :)

There are probably still NNNN.co.uk available..

Whoops, wrong word...

Anyway yeah you can cancel .CO.UK domains. What make the extension really special is that all registrations are active under their owners. You can only register for a fixed 2 year period... and when it comes to renewal, you can only do it a few months before it is due to expire, and not a moment before!

You have to keep on top of your renewals if you want to keep .CO.UK names!

.CO.UK is ranked the 4th or 5th most popular extension, with: -

So you must renew a few months before expiry or the domains will expire if you don't do it then but try to do it a few weeks before expiry???
