Has anyone visited or tried out Weblo.com? Does anyone think domains have a potential real $$$ value?

I read an article about it a few days ago and decided to visit the site. It's pretty interesting and I see tons of potential in it. It looks like it could be a future SecondLife/Myspace mix.

I really don't know if this will work out or not, but I decided buying some top domains in the Weblo world for a chance at a possible future payoff is a good investment.

After investing $30 I am now the proud owner of: Portugal.com, Peru.com, MovieTimes.com, MusicVideos.com, FreeMusic.com, and Pack.com (In the Weblo World Of Course).

That's all the money I'm spending on this. I'm just gonna go back to my regular life and hopefully I'll get that email one day that tells me someone is interested in purchasing one of my Weblo Domains for a high amount of $$$.

What a load of crap......it won't be long before they are hit with mega lawsuits by people from both sides: there members they are fooling and other companies whose trademarks they will infringe.

Haha. Possibly. I can see Weblo getting sued for a million different reasons. You are dealing with Buildings/Companies/Celebs/Domains. But, I'm sure when they built Weblo they understood what kind of laws they are working around and how ethical it is.

The previous CEO of Myspace and another top guy created this idea.

Myspace did pretty well.....

I threw $200 at it to check it out for the Cartel. I know of another few that have thrown some money at it too, including one buying up stuff with $20k. I think the overall concept is flawed a bit. Don't think the domains will make sense, but there are some other features that are kindof cool. We'll see if the promotion and the links out or in ever make sense.

$20k. That's insane!

I was looking into buying some states and cities but eveything good is gone. There are some states going for about a grand but that's a little too much for me to spend on Weblo.

So I bought some top domains for $30 and I'll see what happens.

i think if you buy a state you get a percentage of taxes and like a % if someone buys a town, i believe that would probably make you some cash

That's what my understanding of it is. But I haven't heard of or seen any figures from people owning states, so I'm not going to buy one just yet if I don't know about how much I'll be making in return.

Thanks for the link.

I actually meant that I wanted to know how much money state owners make every day or every month.

If I paid $1200 for a state but it makes $50-$100 a day revenue then I'd definitely take the plunge.

California was sold for $53k but how much money do you think it makes every day?

I have spent like $300 on Weblo just incase. $300 isnt too much to lose but if it becomes big it has the potential to turn into a good amount of money. No way I would risk 20-50k on it like some people have. There are people who are already making over a million real U.S. dollars on Second Life.

I got into Weblo on the first day. I launched the largest Forum dedicated to Weblo that first week. WebloForum.com
No one has to believe in Weblo if they don't want to. That's fine. But it really cracks me up when people who are sustained on a virtual business... DOMAINS, sneer at a virtual game. What is that all about?

I own a couple of virtual cities, including Nashville, and Myrtle Beach. I also am managing Hillary Clinton. I also have around 30 domains including Business.com Mobile.com RealEstate.com Games.com Videogames.com Videos.com Search.com RSS.com PPC.com, men.com, women.com, my.com a.com, etc. Actually the Weblo domain market has been kinder to me recently than the real domain market.

Real offers for profit is a good deal whether you understand the concept or not. The domain community should never laugh at things it doesn't understand. Remember, we make money off of "virtually nothing". :)

I'll see your "business.com" and raise you with my "poker.com" ($15 real life earnings in redirects so far)

Aside from the absolute A1 Premium ones, the domains in Weblo imho have limited value until traffic is built. Meanwhile, more fun is to be had with being the mayor of your home town B-)

I had never head of it before, it's an interesting idea.

Especially if the pages start ranking well in Google and if you searched ie "The great wall of china" and ended up on weblo you could start making sme dough.

My main issue with it is it's name...We Blo? They really could have gotten a better name...like eInvesting, lol.
