This extension seems to have quite a few requirements. I looked them over, but I wasn't sure just how difficult it would be to register one.

The qualifications seem to be a lot of "either" / "or" where some are extremely specific and others very vague. For instance, "Organizations formed as and/or considered cooperatives under applicable local law" OR "Entities whose operations are principally dedicated to serving cooperatives."

It seems to me like anyone can claim to have one of the latter.

Wouldn't even consider it.
Why would you want to?

I want to register it because the domain had a previous history. There are lots of backlinks and I"m sure traffic still going to this domain.

That wasn't my point of starting the thread........ I'm not worried about the name, I'm worried about the registration requirements. Please see the original post...

Update: I've looked more into the registration process, and it truly seems like a b*tch. If anyone can register this extension for me, I'll pay well.

If you are a cooperative, I would strongly suggest to use on of these.

Two of the registrars I went to here http://www.coop/buy/ don't mind AT ALL about requirements. This is a common practice with "restricted" TLDs.

Hit "site:.coop" in Google to see. Reports are here: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/coop-2014-02-28-en .I have never seen one in use but this is probably because I am not in any of these businesses.

Thank you for the response! I had given up on anyone responding to this. However, your response confused me a little bit.

I want to clarify that I am not a cooperative, I simply want a domain that is a .coop.

You said when you went here: http://www.coop/buy/ that 2 registrars don't care at all? Which two? If you don't want to say publicly, I'll message you.

I'm not sure what the purpose of doing "site:.coop" is, besides listing lots of domains?

Hey mate, any chance you could clarify these questions for me?

Only quality backlinks matter...
Some domains may have even hundreds/thousands BLs and incoming traffic slightly higher than 0.

Also matters a keyword itself... if it is not strong or it is not a keyword at all (some acronym, for example) - max. CPC will be $0.xx even from the USA.
