Has anyone ever done this.

You know the drill if you are using MS Windows, you are in the middle of something and you get the dreaded "this program is not responding........... has encountered an error........ needs to shut down.........."

We have all been there before lol.

My question is:
Has anyone ever submited an error report and got a response?

I am sure Microsoft have people on hand "Oh no Joe Bloggs' WinAmp Player has shut down unexpectedly and he has submitted an error report, let's get onto it right away!"

i submit them everytime i gte one... its not like i give them my name age email and phone number and ask them to get back to me :P

I submit them the first 10 times it happens. After that, i figure they know about it and it just wastes my time.

Never, in fact I have all services like that turned off.

I only submit error reports on beta software and even then I only do it 2 or 3 times max. for each error (eg if a button press crashes the program)

I've never submitted anything before.

However I think they probably just collect the info and then sell it to survey companies or maybe help out some super secret spying program... I guess I am too paranoid.

I don't.... it's annoying enough to have it shut down in the MILD of work...
I figure clicking ANYTHING else - will just cause it all to take LONGER to reboot...

I'm also leary of what that form will pull from my hard drive to accompany that letter along it's merry way - to wherever it is going... or that it would leave behind a clutter-cookie of some sort...

I submit it everytime and just think it is a false message put up to make you feel better about yourself. I doubt it even sends it to be honest, lol.

ive submited them somelines long ago but when i knowticed windows never getting updates fixing my problem then i disabled this feature from my computer

well this is what i do

i am tired of those Don't send and send the error report messages

i just open the task manager

and go the process and kill the process and it kills everything much faster

I Have Error Reporting and other unneccessary services turned OFF. It just wastes resources and slows your computer down.

I always report. ive been reporting for 3-4 years. still no respone on error reports.

i ussually submit them but not always.

Not long ago I submitted a problem that I encountered with the upgrade of msn live and today got a feedback request asking how satisfied I was with the response. Only thing is I never received a response.
