I paid a visit to GoDaddy today, not a fan of theirs though they do give some the opportunity to register domains which you can't find with your normal registration company.
Now one of these, the .gs domain, the South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, is available on GoDaddy. It is run by adamsname.tc, which also handles 3 other domains I am led to believe:
.tc (Turks and Caicos)
.vg (British Virgin Islands)
.ms (Montserrat)
and ofcourse, .gs (South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands)
Now, my question is, seeing as it costs $50 to register one of these domains a year with adamsnames.tc (Plus 17.5% if you live in the EU, like me) but only $34.95 with GoDaddy, would it be worth registering domains to sell on and / or develop?
The .gs domain is in the position that you can have "-INGS" endings as part of the domain. e.g. "findin.gs", so presumably that would push domain price up slightly. But overall, would you invest your money on a domain with the .gs extension or would you not?
Personally I would as it would appear there are many LLL's and many dictionary words left to go around, even with the high registration costs.
Discuss... (Tell me if I have anything wrong too!)
