I am also proud owner of 170 domains mostly in the cannabis niche just here to learn more about domaining as I have yet to make a first sale. The Cannabis niche is not a bad one to be in as long as you have really good domains.

What's actually going on in Ontario with the opening of more private dispensaries? Here in Quebec it's all under one umbrella government brand, so not ideal for domains (although it would be too niche to be invest-able in French domains anyways). What's really needed for cannabis domains it's more jurisdictions with private outlets (each obviously needing unique names/brands/domains).

yes they are talking about opening cannabis lounges in ontario now so thats a lil heads up..
and i try to stay ahead of the curve with my domain ideas. Cannabis itself is probly over saturated rn so i do ideas around the plant that have yet to be done yet for the most part. i.e bet420.net or bettrees.com thanks for the reply any tipps for getting my first sale?

Just be careful when mixing niches. I've never heard of people betting Cannabis .. so mixing terms like bet+420 or kush+casino are going to end up with domains with virtually a 0.0% chance of selling .. and most certainly not a high enough sales multiple so that when combined with that ultra-low probability of selling you'd end up with a viable investment. I'd definitely stop acquiring such domains unless you've got some secret information about there being a casino opening where people bet in cannabis instead of money. Even if that were the case it's such an obscure combination that they would have a very easy time getting a much better domain CannabisCasino.com (which personally I still wouldn't even invest in if it was available at handreg because I just don't see any actual real-world business case usage for that combination).

As for making your first sale .. that's the other problem with the domain industry .. is that there's an illusion of quick sales. Obviously you could do some outbound sales .. but based on those domains I really don't think you'll get anywhere I'm sorry to say. A very solid portfolio of good two-word .com domains will typically have a sell-through rate of about 1% (incoming sales) .. domains like bet/420 (in .net) and bet/trees I think have a below 0.1% sell-though rate potential .. which unfortunately translates into them being effectively unsellable I'm sorry to say.

Check out this thread for an example of what I thing are better two-word combinations. Even they are challenging to sell at high multiple .. so it just goes to show how domaining isn't easy:

Anyhow .. don't despair too much .. just about everyone has started with similar domains .. the key is to get better before spending your entire budget. Just take time to read tons here .. if you walk a lot I also recommend going back and listening to the last several years of Domain Sherpa Reviews!

i heard it before personal drones, human cloning and flying cars dont exist yet either dose that make them bad ideas for domains? maybe ill start the trend of gambling for weed myself maybe someone else will cpc will be lower so i can easily rank. I got plans trust me. but thanks for your opinion.

plus it went from 20 bucks to 2k in over 1 year without doing anything so i happy with that. and just so you know cannabis companies are moving to malta a place where gambling is legal so you can read about the climate first then tell me what you think instead of giving biased and uninformed information.
